Ori and the Blind Forest, developed by Moon Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios, is widely known as one of the titles associated with the Xbox ecosystem. However, the game’s performance on the Nintendo Switch has drawn attention after reports suggested it runs more smoothly than on Microsoft’s own console.
In recent years, collaboration between Microsoft and Nintendo has become more visible. One notable example is the appearance of Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a crossover that surprised many fans and highlighted the growing relationship between the two companies.
According to Thomas Mahler, Game Director at Moon Studios, Ori and the Blind Forest on the Nintendo Switch can run at up to 60 frames per second. In comparison, the version released for the Xbox One typically runs at 30 frames per second.
Mahler explained that the difference is largely due to animation optimizations made for the Switch version. These improvements allow the game’s visuals and movements to appear smoother during gameplay.
The release of Ori and the Blind Forest on the Nintendo Switch represents another interesting step in the ongoing partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo. Although the game only recently arrived on the platform, players have already noticed how well it performs, with some saying the experience feels more optimized than on other consoles.
